gBox knocks on Google doors to tackle iTunes
While iTunes is undoubtedly the world dominating online music vendor, it is no secret that there are dozens of other companies out there who are competing for space in the online music market. But one of them, gBox, seems to be doing something right.
They will sell titles of the Universal Music Group online for a brief test period and for this they are apparently teaming up with Google for the advertising part. That means, everytime you type in the name of a song, singer or band you might find a small ad for a gBox page corresponding to the search term.
Online music is hot and Google, with its reach and the famous contextual advertising rpogram, is the undisputed God of online advertising. This could be a master stroke.
