Detect emotions through typed text

Now you can find out exactly what your pal was feeling like in his head when he/she was typing out that email to you. I know it sounds weird and a bit eerie but that is the kind of service this new company is trying to offer to users.

SnapFeel can apparently gauge a person’s ’state of mind’ from what he types using a set of complex algorithms. It lets you know if the person is stressed, excited, embarrased or even aroused!  Also the makers claim ‘unprecedented accuracy’. There is a demo page on the website and these are the results I got:

‘STRESSED’ is the verdict. But believe me, my mental state right now is anything but stressed. I went on to type in more stuff in the text box and interestingly everytime SnapFeel felt I was stressed.

Obviously the accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. Nevertheless this revolutionary software, with a lot more fine-tuning, could change the world of some professional sectors such as online customer service.
